Client: Transform Education

Project: Blended learning curriculum development for Jordanian Department of Education

Transform Education

Real Time Education are collaborating with Transform Education to propose and detail blended learning approaches that can be taken in curriculum delivery and assessment for 14-18 year old learners in Jordan. The project, beginning in Autumn 2022, involves imagining how a wide range of blended approaches of varying technical complexity can be used.

The work involved analysing the current Jordanian curriculum and recommending and specifying digital and online learning and assessment strategies which could be used to build learners’ digital skills and create more authentic assessments for those entering the modern workplace or progressing on to Higher Education. The recommended strategies range from simple file uploads, through use of richer multimodal evidence such as audio and video portfolio elements, to collaborate project work using forums, shared documents and webinars.

The work considers the level of technical complexity for both the learners and the educators and assessors facilitating the curriculum and culminates in a detailed analysis and recommendations report for future digital learning development to be funded by The World Bank.

MET Academy

Real Time have designed a bespoke Award in Education and Training (AET) curriculum for trainers working for MET Academy, independent providers of Metal Recycling Apprenticeships. The first 5 cohorts of the NOCN-accredited course were facilitated via face-to-face sessions augmented with blended learning resources and online mentoring sessions.

In 2021, the sixth cohort moved to a hybrid facilitation model combining Zoom-based learning webinars and 1-1 mentoring support with an in-person microteaching session.

The AET curriculum has been supplemented by digital skills and pedagogy workshops. These allowed trainers to develop skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook for learning resource design and learner support. The sessions also introduced educators to a range of engaging digital tools for active learning and assessment including Mentimeter polling, GoConqr quizzing, Thinglink image annotation and screencasting tools for explainer video support and video-based learner feedback.
