What does the course cover?

An initial teacher training course will equip delegates with the skills needed to deliver successful adult learning including effective session planning, development of engaging and inclusive delivery strategies, creation of flexible learning resources and the ability to soundly assess trainees' progress. The course will also allow delegates to develop the skills required to effectively manage training sessions, support a range of learners and evaluate the success of their delivery of learning.

How is the course delivered?
The course is typically offered as an eight week, half-day programme with some additional home study tasks, though more flexible, blended learning delivery options are easily available using online materials. The course can be delivered on-site at your premises and can be adapted to allow recognised exam board certification if required. The minimum suggested group size is ten people. .

Who is this course for?

  • Anyone who has just begun or is about to begin delivering education and training for adults working for a conventional learning provider or delivering learning in the workplace
  • Those delivering leisure learning in the community or for the third sector

The course is typically offered as a stand-alone, two-day programme which involves delegates in the planning and delivery of a short practise training session, but has no further additional study tasks. The input can be delivered on-site at your premises and can be adapted to allow recognised exam board certification if required. The minimum suggested group size is ten people.
